How it Works
Scheduling
Seasons currently run twice a week on the following schedule. Be sure to join before a season starts to be included:
First Season
Monday 6:00 pm - Phase 1
Tuesday 6:00 pm - Phase 2
Wednesday Noon - Decision phase
Thursday 9:00 am - Season end
Second Season
Thursday 6:00 pm - Phase 1
Friday 6:00 pm - Phase 2
Saturday Noon - Decision phase
Sunday 9:00 am - Season end
Onboarding
When users begin using Heartcade, they will be asked to onboard and create a profile, which requires that they choose a name, specify their age (18+), grant access to location data, specify gender and gender preferences, and upload 6 photos.
Lobby
Once onboarded, users will be directed to the Lobby which will also be the landing page for subsequent logins.
From the Lobby, users will be granted the opportunity to opt into a season which will give users an opportunity to form matches with other users.
A season consists of 4 phases that progress automatically based on a timer.
Phase 1: Users wait in the lobby for the season to begin. Once a season has started, users can choose a unique avatar and username.
Phase 2: Users are matched with up to 4 other users, and are allowed to chat with one another.
Phase 3: User's distance data is revealed to matched users. Chat continues.
Phase 4: Users are no longer allowed to chat and decide whether or not they are interested in continuing the match (by selecting Heart or X).
Once Phase 4 expires, any matches where both users liked each other will become True Matches and will be accessible in the Match section!
Matches
The matches section allows matched users to message one another and view each other’s profiles.
From the view profile page, users can also unmatch or report other users.
If a user is reported 3 times, their account will be suspended and all matches will be removed.
The Pending section is not currently being used.
Arcade
The Arcade section is currently in development, and will eventually be the home to other gamified dating experiences. Currently only the Mystery Date game is implemented (See Lobby description).
This section also gives the user access to their own profile along with settings, preferences, and About/Help.
