Woah, did you just find someone you connect with in the middle of a global pandemic? Not being able to be with your date physically could be annoying to deal with, however there certainly are ways to keep the sparks going even when you can't arrange in-person dates.
In this Virtual Dating Guide, you will pick up how to arrange a date or start a relationship at the comfort of your own home.
Gaming Night
This might be an obvious one but nevertheless it still could be very exciting. As video games continue to evolve, users' experiences are improving at a rapid speed. Below are a few recommendations I picked out for one of your future game nights.
If you and your partners are experienced gamers, multiplayer games like league of legends, PUBG, overwatch, etc are some of the most popular options. Not only do these games take some serious skills, they also demand high chemistry between players, making it a good way to get to know one another.
If you are a noobie at gaming and prefer to play old fashion card games, don’t worry, we got you covered. Cardzmania is a great platform since it offers a wide collection of card games with easy instructions that everyone would understand. “Do a puzzle together” is also a great app where you and your partner could work on a puzzle together virtually. Seeing that the two of you completed a challenging task together could be rewarding.
Last but not least, if you are looking to try something new and have a comfortable budget on hand, some of the latest tech might be exactly what you are looking for. Switch, playstation, xbox are some of the most popular consoles as of now. But if you think those aren’t for you, you might want to try VR consoles. Sony and Oculus offer the newest virtual reality gaming experience, you might even swear to live or die together after killing some zombies with your partner.
Book Club
Pick out something to read together, something that interests both parties. Then set a date to finish the book by, and when the date arrives either schedule a phone call or facetime and have a discussion based on the book you both read. This way, you won’t ever have to worry about running out of things to talk about.
Virtual Museum
Museum tours are on top of many people’s wish list. With social distancing in place, it is almost impossible to travel around the world. However, with the help of youtube and other platforms, you can visit wonders from all around the world. Google Arts and Culture offers various virtual tours for famous museums around the world. Many local channels also provide virtual walking tours for landmarks. Using screen sharing, you and your date can discover unique collections and dig deep into some interesting background stories that interest both of you.
Movie night
C'mon, you have to be expecting this one. Netflix Party allows people to synchronize their accounts and watch the same show/movie simultaneously. All you have to do is carefully pick a show or movie that neither of you have watched and just Netflix and chill (remotely).
Mystery dinner date
The mystery dinner date may require some getting to know your partner first. After you know a bit about each others’ eating habits, you would exchange addresses and order each other’s dinner using local delivery services such as uber eat, doordash, etc. Once all the food has landed, watch each other unbox and hopefully enjoy the food you picked out for each other.
Virtual daters are just a small portion of our population who are slowly getting used to social distancing and quarantine lifestyle. As our population learns to study from home, work from home, it is also important for us to learn how to date from home. Ignite the fire in your hearts, and don’t be afraid to love.
